A collection of my favourite photos of 2022. The title "Fears & Favs", fear of not being able to further my understanding of digital and analog photography, stuck photographing at the same level from 2023 and beyond. For now, I'm happy looking at these photos and feeling a sense of accomplishment for the year past.

Endless Paths

The Hill of Hill Rd, Sydney Olympic Park, hosted 3 chaps arguing about their descent. I was lucky to be standing far enough away to not have their wrath turned towards me.

Stagnant Pipe

An abandoned, soon-to-be-demolished coke factory harboured many photographic moments, however, this one has to be my favourite.

Gotham, Sydney

This photo, to me, looks straight out of Christopher Nolans, "The Dark Knight". I love the contrast between the dark buildings and the twilight sky.

Stairway to REDACTED

The staff-only entrance in an art museum. Not the intended exhibition one's supposed to take a photo of.

Orange Hue

A classic sunset over a river. I, as well as the majority of humans, like a good sunset. I've captured many, however, this one has stood out to me as my best (so far). The orange-to-blue gradient calms me more than any other photo I've taken.

Pairing Shots

A partner shot of a partnership, the love of my life, somewhere out there exists the reverse. Only instead of a stunning yellow and red frame, it's a dorky boy wondering how he got so lucky.

Heavenly Path

A photo or a painting? Every time I look at this photo my eyes get confused as if it were an optical illusion... maybe that's just me?

This photo was taken at the Glow Worm Tunnels in Newnes Plates, NSW. A parody of Alex Garland's 2022 Movie "Men". A photo of mateship, something at times I often overtook.

Off-White Blue Skys

The tip of Wollongong's Flagstaff Point Lighthouse. I've always been a sucker for long sky and little subject photos.

Another World

An ariel view of algae dominating this body of water at Sydney Brick Pit. You could be easily tricked into thinking this was a scene from a sci-fi movie about an alien planet. I enjoy the harsh contrast between the dark water and brightly yellowed coloured algae.

Beneath a Maze

Taken in a small North Sydney alleyway this hidden gem taken towards the end of the year shocked me when I received my scans back from Do! Film Lab in Surrey Hills. The clarity and otherworldy look of this image were enough to make the cut last minute for this album.

Urbancoster

A picture of pure enjoyment at Sydney's Luna Park. I was lucky enough to be standing on an elevated platform with a full roll of film loaded when this bright red cart screamed by. To me, it's a timeless image and one I can happily end this project and 2022 on. Happy New Year!
